Iced Coffee Hack #1: Espresso, poured over ice

Summertime = iced coffee. For those of you who love it, but spend 20 minutes and $4/day getting it from Starbucks, I’m giving you my favorite iced coffee hacks.

Ingredients:

  • 2 heaping tablespoons of finely ground coffee beans (Fair Trade, please!!)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (Fair Trade, please!!) or honey
  • 5-7 ice cubes
  • 1/3 cup 2% organic milk (grass-fed, free range cows make the best milk)

Equipment:

Espresso machine

Instructions:

Draw 2-3 shots of espresso using the espresso machine. I tend to overdraw for iced coffee, but you purists don’t have to. Immediately add sugar to the hot espresso. Stir to dissolve. Drop ice cubes into a coffee travel mug. Pour sweetened espresso over ice. Add milk. Go to work!!
